Nelson Barss, President/Principle Lending Manager

Nelson has been working in the mortgage industry for over 6 years in various capacities, including loan officer, sales manager and recruiter/trainer. He has trained more than 50 loan officers and been involved in over 500 loan closings. Prior to entering the mortgage industry, Nelson worked for 2 years as an NASD registered securities representative, and for 2 years as a credit and debt counselor, helping families avoid bankruptcy, pay off debt, and increase their credit score. Nelson attended the University of Utah where he earned a BS in Organizational Communication in 2002, and Master of Business Administration in 2007. When Nelson works with his clients, he draws heavily on this past experience and offers a provident approach to financing homes, which, he believes affects every other aspect of a family's financial picture. Whether a client is looking to improve credit, get out of debt, plan for retirement, or just needs some help deciding when they should lock their interest rate, Nelson has the experience and ability to make complex financial questions simple.
